- The main duty of this role is to conduct testing and assist engineering personnel in setting up, installing, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of product and/or system testing based on specific test procedures defined by the Corporate Research & Technology team and product engineering functions in tandem.
- Execute mechanical setups: possess strong knowledge of hydraulics, electro-mechanical components.
- Set up test configurations and perform specific and standard test processes for test stands, ensuring test requests are fulfilled with minimal downtime.
- Address test setup issues according to established lab procedures, test requests, or performance standards.
- Collaborate effectively with research & engineering teams to clarify testing purposes and share ongoing test results.
- Maintain, organize, and retrieve data from a master database containing extensive test and simulation data.
- Take charge of small projects, devise customized fixtures, and continuously enhance your skill set.
- Maintain close collaboration with fellow technicians to standardize lab practices within the group and across other departments, fostering a secure work environment.

Eaton Jobs 2023 – Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 1 to 3 years of pertinent experience
- Experience in analyzing mechanical assembly issues involving hydraulic components is advantageous.
- Additional familiarity with electro-mechanical components is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic product and test rig issues, perform data analysis as needed by the product group
- Understanding of data acquisition systems, hardware, and software used in testing
- Capability to address minor test rig and lab issues, working alongside peer engineers to devise new solutions if required
- Proficiency in reading and creating fixture drawings using AutoCAD/Pro Engineer
- Ability to articulate and generate comprehensive technical reports based on test observations
- Train and oversee fellow technicians, ensuring tests are completed within the stipulated time frame
- Collaborate with engineers in the group to perform custom testing as per customer requests
- Maintain a clean and safe test lab environment for customer visits, constantly improving its presentation
- Strive to meet performance targets set in the Balanced Score Card for the test lab and ensure adherence to ISO standards
